CLEVELAND, OHIO: Few people have had as big an impact in the constantly changing social media environment as Logan Paul. Paul has continuously pushed the boundaries of video production from his humble beginnings as a Vine star to becoming one of YouTube's biggest sensations, gaining a sizable following along the way.
On TikTok, a fresh trend has just appeared, showcasing the platform's dynamic environment. With its ability to captivate users and highlight the wide variety of material that lives on TikTok, the viral NPC trend has assumed center stage. Additionally, Paul and co-host Mike Majlak have taken notice of this despite the fact that they are both content creators themselves.
‘This chick is making bank’
Paul, Majlak, and another cast member of Impaulsive recently discussed Pinkydoll, a well-liked NPC streamer. The two also remarked that they didn't admire the streamer. Despite considering her video to be uninteresting, "The Maverick'' also emphasized the enormous financial success she has attained, earning a respectable $7000 each day through live broadcasting on TikTok.
“Pinky Doll is her name; she’s what’s called an NPC streamer. This chick is making bank – $7000 a day! She goes live on TikTok, 70,000 people – pathetic people, including me – watching this girl go, 'Got me feeling like a cowgirl,'" he said
In addition, co-host Majlak was unreserved in his criticism of the NPC streamer. In an unguarded moment, he criticized the movement, calling NPC streamers and the viewers "the rung bottom of our species."
What is the NPC trend?
The basic idea behind the NPC trend is that content creators are portrayed as Non-Player Characters (NPCs). When viewers donate during a live stream, some streamers employ pre-recorded reactions that they replay. Particularly TikToker PinkyDoll has drawn enormous notice for her live feeds that resemble NPCs.
The trend's comedy and surrealistic elements appeal to viewers' enjoyment of strange and unexpected material and give it a certain level of attraction. However, these have merged into months-long patterns known as short-passing.
TikTok is redefining what enthralls consumers globally with each passing trend creating an environment where the unexpected and odd coexist with more conventional content genres. Furthermore, Paul was engaged by this kind of material, although for the wrong reasons.
