LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Kim Kardashian acknowledged that she doesn't want to be in the limelight as much as she is now as she gets older. The reality television personality and entrepreneur spoke up about her failures and successes in creating the SKIMS empire in her first-ever TIME magazine cover story.
The lounge and shapewear company, which was included in the TIME100 Most Influential Companies list for the second time, has had a number of celebrities front its advertisements, including Brooke Shields and Snoop Dogg, and the 42-year-old has also been in a few.
However, it's possible that this won't continue. Kardashian admitted that she is aware of the potential "timestamp" associated with her age, as reported by People.
'We're not going to go out not trying'
She said to the news outlet, "I understand that maybe in my 50s, I'm not going to be wanting to pose in my underwear," adding that she plans to reduce the number of appearances she does and feature in fewer ads each year. She further added, "We'll do anything we can to look as young as we can. We're not going to go out, not trying," as per reports.
The 'Kardashians' actress, who was ranked among the publication's most essential individuals in 2015, is currently totally focused on her company. According to TIME, the business tycoon spends hours trying on clothing and is frequently a fit model. He is also the creative director of SKIMS. She calculates that she has already worn about 7,000 outfits.
'I can absolutely tell when I miss a few drops'
She said, "I always like to see it on myself; I can absolutely tell when I miss a few drops." She has also been working behind the scenes on a new line expansion, a move into menswear, which TIME says will launch this autumn. Undoubtedly, Kardashian has advanced significantly since the start of SKIMS in 2019.
'I was just winging it'
She told Time, "At the beginning, when I didn't really understand where my career was going because I was just kind of winging it, I would do licensing deals with a lot of different companies that would contradict themselves, like a cupcake brand with a weight-loss pill at the same time."
Kardashian attended the Time100 Summit almost two months ago to celebrate her company's latest accolade. She wore a wholly sheer pastel yellow Rick Owens ensemble, including an oversized jacket, wide-leg pants, and a matching bandeau. She completed the ensemble with pointed white heels and a diamond chain with the word "Kim" engraved on it, as per reports.
