CARPINTERIA, CALIFORNIA: Friends are rallying in support of Kevin Costner's estranged wife Christine Baumgartner following rumors that the former handbag designer was in a relationship with a tech tycoon who rented a home on their $145 million property. Reportedly, Costner's divorce was linked to an alleged affair between his wife Christine, 49, and Daniel Starr, 42.
However, on Wednesday Starr vehemently denied the rumors claiming he "absolutely" didn't "hook up" with the 'Yellowstone' alum's estranged wife Christine as per TMZ. “I just had a tenant-landlord relationship [with them], nothing else," Starr asserted.
'To paint the picture that these two had some sort of romantic relationship is a joke'
"Christine is anything but some bored, desperate housewife. As far as Daniel (Starr) is concerned, there was and is nothing romantic between them,'"a friend told Daily Mail. The unnamed friend further claimed that the romance allegations between the two were a joke. "He's a busy person as well, so to paint the picture that these two had some sort of romantic relationship is a joke," he added. The friend further emphasized the community they live in suggesting anything like that would have been noticed as the people know each other up close. "It's a small town here, especially within the Padaro Lane community. Everyone knows everyone," the friend said.
'I just hope that it ends peacefully for them'
The support for Christine came following Starr's denial that he was involved romantically with her. Star further told the publication, "I just hope that it ends peacefully for them. I hope his divorce resolves and his kids are minimally impacted" Starr added. He further added that earlier in May, Costner announced divorce to end the 19-year marriage through his publicist Arnold Robinson, saying," 'It is with great sadness that circumstances beyond his control have transpired which have resulted in Costner having to participate in a dissolution of marriage."
Baumgartner 'would come into his house almost daily'
Baumgartner, and Costner started dating in 1998. In 2004, they were married at his ranch in Colorado. They share a 12-year-old daughter, two boys who are 14 and 15 years old, and two sons. For Costner, 68, the Oscar and Emmy-winning actor in the TV series 'Yellowstone' and the motion pictures 'Dances With Wolves', 'The Bodyguard', and 'Bull Durham', it was his second marriage. Four children from prior partnerships also exist. This week, it became known that Christine wanted to get close to $250,000 in child support each month. Earlier Sun reported citing sources that Costner had confronted Starr who rented a home on their property for hanging out a lot with Christine. Starr had been renting out a beachfront guest house for around $64,000 a month, and Baumgartner "would come into his house almost daily," as per the source.
