LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: A unique exchange between prominent individuals Kai Cenat, Darren "IShowSpeed" or simply IShowSpeed, and Twitch CEO Dan Clancy at the Streamy Awards 2023 has gone viral.
The CEO of Kick’s rival was confronted by Cenat, who urged him to restore IShowSpeed's Twitch channel.
For those unaware, on December 12, 2021, IshowSpeed was permanently banned from the Amazon-owned platform for his remarks on Adin Ross' e-dating show.
What did Kai Cenat say?
Kai Cenat was heard stating in a video that lasted 21 seconds.
He said, "You've got to unban him! Unban him! (Dan Clancy responds by saying that he needs to 'get the app') You've got to unban him! If he doesn't unban Speed, he is done!"
Darren's potential return to Twitch has been a hot topic of conversation.
This is not the first time, Cenat even had the same conversation on August 1, 2023.
Kai Cenat disclosed that he met with Dan Clancy over dinner, following which the latter "agreed" to unban IShowSpeed.
He said, "We sat down with the CEO. The first couple of questions I asked, 'Yo, we need Speed unbanned ASAP!' And, guess what that (N-Word) said. 'I agree.' So, CEO, do what you've got to do. Okay? CEO, do what you've got to do!"
However, Cenat added that he would not get his expectations up.
He added, "We discussed a lot of s**t and I'm not going to lie, bro, he sounds like he could do it. But, you never know until it's done. So, I'm not going to my hopes up and s**t like that. Nice, little dinner."
Is Kai Cenat leaving Twitch?
IShowSpeed and Kai Cenat are well-known buddies who routinely work together to organize streams.
However, IShowSpeed's Twitch ban has created a significant problem. Since Twitch's rules forbid banned streamers from rejoining the service, Kai Cenat appears to be pushing for a review of IShowSpeed's ban.
His most recent performance happened during a livestream right before the 2023 Streamy Awards.
He said he could think about leaving the platform if IShowSpeed's ban is upheld. He offered a light-hearted remark in response, making it clear that his earlier comments were meant in fun.
