AUSTIN, TEXAS: UFC commentator and podcaster Joe Rogan recently revealed that he has no regrets about going completely bald in 2011 after having receding hairline for years. He discussed the topic with guest Eshan Ahmad in ‘The Joe Rogan Experience’ #2050.
Joe Rogan is well-known for his bald head, his rhetorical skills, and his general greatness. Rogan's reputation as a seasoned podcaster and pundit has made him an important presence in the entertainment industry.
Why did Joe Rogan decide to go bald?
The duo watched several episodes of the show while talking about Rogan's time on Fear Factor. A wave of nostalgia suddenly overcame Joe Rogan as he thought back to his time on the audacious reality show.
“I still had the wallet chain back then. I still had hair,” Rogan said while Ahmad asked, "Yeah, I was going to say the hair. Look at the hairline going. When did you shave it ?"
Rogan claimed that more than ten years ago, he gave up on his receding hairline and turned to baldness. “I shaved. I gave up. I think 2011 is just f**king done. Yeah, my hair looks terrible,” he said.
“There’s always like for me it was always like I saw a picture of me on the stage and I was like oh my god. This is how I present myself to the world. This is crazy,” Ahmad added.
In the end, Rogan stated that going bald is preferable to having a poor hairline. "Yeah, you’re so much better off giving in and I’m lucky I have a good head. It’s a good shape for a head for being bald," he said.
Failed attempt at hair transplant
Joe Rogan had not really given up on his hairline in the past, particularly in his early twenties. Rogan had a series of hair transplant surgeries in an attempt to combat this hair loss, according to Essentially Sports. Unfortunately, it didn't seem like any of these treatments had the anticipated result.
The initial two transplants were placed in the late 1990s and early 2000s, however, the outcomes were not up to par. In 2007, Rogan underwent his third and last transplant, which served as his last hope of growing back his hair.
However, just like the other two, this transplant didn't work out. Rogan ultimately made the decision to go bald after running out of alternative options for maintaining his hair, and it may have been one of his better choices in terms of his characteristic style.
