AUSTIN, TEXAS: Although Marvel Studios has created some of the best superhero films ever, some of their more recent works have split fans. Joe Rogan, a well-known podcast host, and UFC analyst, has criticized the business' recent innovative initiatives.
He has also said on one episode of his podcast that Marvel's films after Avengers are all "sh*t". This time, Rogan believed that the Marvel Cinematic Universe was now free to do anything they wanted as a result of the introduction of the Multiverse idea.
‘They just go back in time and reset things’
Joe Rogan remarked on a podcast with comic Brian Simpson, “They are allowed to weird sh*t now because of the multiverse. They just go back in time and reset things.”
This has to do with Marvel's Multiverse, a collection of superheroes and plot threads. Simpson, a guest on the show, concurred with Rogan's assertion that Marvel just has to make movies that are better than average to maintain the type of cult that they have managed to create. He also believes that the studio is departing from the Marvel comics, which served as the inspiration for the films.
Simpson used Thanos, a character from 'Avengers: Infinity War', as an example to support his claim. He claimed that while Thanos was a much harsh character in the comics, he was given some redeeming qualities in the film.
'It infuriates me'
Joe frequently discusses the MCU and offers high appreciation for some of the franchise's films, including 'Avengers: Infinity War'. However, the UFC pundit made it clear that he detested Hawkeye in particular as an Avenger.
"I got to say, I f**king hate Hawkeye though. That stupid Marvel character, all he has is a bow and arrow. It’s so dumb, everybody else is The Hulk and they f**king can do crazy sh*t. Dr. Strange can summon other universes and this dude is just shooting sh**ty arrows at aliens,” Rogan said. When discussing Hawkeye's abilities, Rogan went all rational and said that the Avenger's strength defies logic.
“There’s aliens flying around in spaceships and he’s shooting arrows at them. Like that’s so dumb. He never runs out of arrows. It infuriates me,” he added. While Jeremy Renner's Hawkeye was a significant role in films like 'Avengers: Infinity War' and 'Avengers: Endgame', which are among the top-earning films of all time, Rogan may have had a valid point with his comment.
