LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Jennifer Lawrence laughs off allegations of a garlic-and-tuna-fueled kiss she shared with co-star Liam Hemsworth on the set of 'The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1'. Lawrence talked about it during a recent appearance on 'First We Feast's hit YouTube series 'Hot Ones', while responding to presenter Sean Evans' inquiry about the purported smooch.
"It was not intentional," clarified Jennifer Lawrence, 32. Lawrence first revealed kissing Hemsworth offscreen on 'What Happens Live with Andy Cohen' in 2015. “Liam and I grew up together," the 'Silver Linings' star shared with Cohen.
'Liam’s real hot. What would you have done?
"Liam’s real hot. What would you have done?” she told the host when she was asked about the incident. She affirmed, "Yeah, I have.” Back in 2014, the Oscar winner credited Hemsworth for teaching her to have a backbone. “I am a wimp about standing up for myself,” Lawrence admitted to People. She added, Hemsworth “taught me how to stand up for myself. I would always be like, ‘Please like me! Please like me!’ ” She further explained, “It’s my biggest weakness – with negotiating, or even with people. Liam is always fair, he is always kind, he is always strong. He’s teaching me to toughen up a little bit, and it’s important. I need that.”
'Any time I had to kiss Jennifer was pretty uncomfortable'
Hemsworth on 'The Tonight Show' in November 2014, stated "Any time I had to kiss Jennifer was pretty uncomfortable. When you look at it on the outside it looks like a great picture. She’s one of my best friends. I love her." However kissing her always felt uncomfortable as he said, "But if we had a kissing scene, she would make a point of eating garlic or tuna fish or something that was disgusting," Hemsworth told at the time.
'He should just, you know, get over it'
Lawrence dismissed Hemsworth's discomfort with a playful response during the latest interview as she laughed it off. Regarding the kisses they shared, Lawrance said, "It was just, like, what I was eating, and then we'd kiss! He should just, you know, get over it.". Lawrence recently told Variety that she would be "totally" open to returning to 'The Hunger Games' franchise as the tough-as-nails protagonist Katniss Everdeen. She told the publication, “If Katniss could ever come back into my life, 100 percent." While fans wait for 'The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes' to hit theaters on November 17, they may watch Jennifer Lawrence in the picture 'No Hard Feelings', which is currently in theaters.
