LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: As of late, 'The View' has been extensively covering news about Joe Biden, Donald Trump, and Ron DeSantis, among other political leaders, due to the ongoing presidential campaigns. However, at times the topic may veer toward things besides politics. Lately, Commander, the pet dog of President Joe Biden, has been in the news for allegedly biting several Secret Services agents at the White House.
Whoopi Goldberg, 'The View' moderator on Wednesday, July 26, was tasked to read a headline concerning the news during the Hot Topics segment to discuss with her co-hosts. However, she could not keep a straight face while reading out the cue cards.
Whoopi Goldberg couldn't hold her composure while reading the cue cards
Goldberg glanced at the cue cards before looking at the camera and altered her voice before saying, "You know, this is getting really hard to do." She proceeded to pretend to wipe off tears before adding, "But another member of the Biden family is under more scrutiny, and I don’t know why this happening but okay. Conservative group judicial watch…" Goldberg paused and chuckled, seemingly unable to hold back her laughter as she was joined by two of her co-hosts. The host finished reading the cue card, saying, "...released Secret Service records that implicate Joe Biden’s dog, Commander, in ten, count them, in ten biting incidents."
'Please show the clip'
A picture of Commander, a German Shepherd, flashed in the background as the co-hosts looked forward to Goldberg continuing to read the cue cards. She wheezed as she struggled to speak, making the audience laugh at her antics. Goldberg couldn’t finish reading the cue card as Joy Behar interrupted, saying, "You know…can I tell you why this is happening?" Goldberg tried to collect herself before responding, "Yes you can…well there’s a clip apparently," before urging the producers to play the clip as she yet again struggled to keep her composure.
Soon, a clip of White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, who attempted to address the situation involving the dog, was played for everyone. Then, the camera shifted to Goldberg, who seemed calmer, but moments after, she burst out in laughter, saying, "It’s not easy! When you have a chomper…," and ranted incoherently while imitating a dog. "And he hasn’t bitten any Republicans, so I think you all should be really glad," exclaimed Goldberg. Before she could mock the topic any further, Behar took over, with the co-hosts proceeding to discuss Biden's dog, Commander, along with their pets.
