NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Kai Cenat invited KSI, a YouTuber, and rapper, to stream with him and play a video game. During the webcast, Cenat created a scenario for KSI and was dissatisfied with his decision and indirectly tagging him as a "racist."
Cenat, a 21-year-old Twitch streamer, was previously banned for uttering nasty remarks. Fans believed there was more to the situation than meets the eye, accusing Twitch of racial discrimination for allegedly 'harassing' him.
Is KSI racist?
Cenat shows KSI two game controllers: "I got a black controller vs a white controller." Which one do you want?" KSI looked perplexed before saying, "Umm ummm, I'll pick white." Cenat appeared offended and turned away from the rapper. "It's just a color fam," KSI stated in response.
The Twitch stream couldn't take it and added, "No but during Black History month it's probably... I was hoping that you picked white so that I can have the black one. But I was expecting you to pick black for Black History month." "So why did you set me up?" KSI shouted, frustrated. The entire incident concluded that KSI is not a racist and simply chose his controller.
KSI has earlier used a racial slur in a Countdown-themed Sidemen video. for which he has to face backlash. The video in question featured KSI attempting to form the longest word from nine letters but was later removed. KSI apologized for his words and acknowledged the consequences of his actions. He acknowledged his responsibility to use his platform for good and uplift marginalized voices.
'Everything in America is about race'
After watching a clip fans noticed that the situation was being overly associated with racism. A fan wrote, "Cuz everything in America is about race unlike everywhere else." Another user slammed KSI, "Bro took racism too seriously."
One KSKSIan stood in his support and wrote, "Crazy cus ksi is the one who is actually not racist here." Another commentator noticed Cenat saying black vs white controller and not black and white, "Problem is, he said Versus."
