MANHATTAN, NEW YORK: Brynn Whitfield of 'The Real Housewives of New York City' may not be a real housewife yet, but she considers herself a "trophy wife-in-training." On the upcoming Season 14 of 'RHONY,' Whitfield joins fellow wives Ubah Hassan and Jenna Lyons in enjoying the single life.
Season 14 of 'RHONY' will bring many new faces to the Big Apple. Season 13's ratings were apparently poor, so Andy Cohen and his fellow Bravo bigwigs decided to take dramatic measures to salvage the show, according to Variety. Cohen revealed they intended to assemble a fresh, varied ensemble of ladies from the same social circles. At BravoCon, Bravo fans met the all-new 'RHONY' cast for the first time, and one of the ladies, Whitfield, hasn't entirely earned "wife" status yet.
Is Brynn Whitfield married?
Whitfield confirmed her single status during the 'RHONY' Season 14 launch event in July to The Daily Dish. "I am single. I feel so lame, I’m like I should have got a boyfriend for this red carpet! I am single, though," she remarked, adding, "Still hanging out with like, two exes." It looks like Whitfield isn't afraid to make light of her relationship status, as she uploaded a photo of herself on Instagram in October 2019 with the message, "It’s all about that sweet, innocent, first date look. A look that says: If you act up- I will marry your dad, become your stepmom, and make your bedtime 7pm."
The 'RHONY' star appears to be living the good life. According to her Bravo bio, she lives in Manhattan's West Village and enjoys organizing dinner parties and other events in her apartment. Moreover, her Instagram is full of holiday photos, and one of the posts is from a ladies' trip she took to Mykonos in August 2021. The still-single housewife captioned her post, "(In Gossip Girl voice): “Was it really just a quick, friends trip to Mykonos? Or, was it actually the Closing Ceremony to conclude Hot Girl summer 2021? That’s the one secret I’ll never tell.? You know u love me. X-o-x-o.”
Whitfield has also been posting about her recent vacations, including one from May where she spent time in Palm Springs, California. The star is frequently out and about with her pals, as seen by a snap from February that she captioned, "Alexa, play ‘Where my girls at’ by 702," to which fellow 'RHONY' housewife Jessel Taank responded with heart eye emojis.
'Trophy wife-in-training'
Six of the seven new 'RHONY' cast members debuted on 'Watch What Happens Live With Any Cohen' as the host played a recorded episode at BravoCon 2022. Bravo also provided brief profiles for each of the ladies, and Whitfield is one of three cast members who aren't married. However, she regards herself as a "trophy wife-in-training." At the 'RHONY' Season 14 premiere on July 12, Whitfield stated her interest in Shep Rose from 'Southern Charm', in an exclusive interview with HollywoodLife. "I think Shep’s a cutie. And I feel like I’m a commitment-phobe. He’s a commitment-phobe. So it would be a disaster," Brynn laughed. "It would be a short-term disaster. And Andy [Cohen] told me [he could help.]"
Moreover, Whitfield doesn't need a wealthy man to fund her extravagant lifestyle. According to her LinkedIn page, the Purdue University graduate is the PR lead for the e-commerce startup Assembly and works as a freelance marketing communications consultant. She announced on Instagram that she obtained her yoga training certification from YogaWorks in 2019, proving that this 'RHONY' star is a true hustler. Being from the Midwest, she isn't afraid to venture out into murky water to do some fly-fishing, making her an interesting part of the upcoming season. And as evident by her slurry of Instagram posts, Whitfield takes an interest in fashion, opera, art, and traveling.
Season 14 of 'The Real Housewives of New York City' premieres on Bravo on Sunday, July 16, at 9 pm, and each episode will be available on Peacock the following day.
