LONDON, ENGLAND: Amid sexual assault allegations against Russell Brand, a TikToker has gone viral with her claim about the comedian.
The user who goes by the handle @feministforever points out that he saw it coming since the #metoo movement and worked to build a following that distrusts median.
The star did this anticipating his followers would protect him from ‘the day of reckoning.’
Was Russell Brand protected?
Rebecah Boynton, shared her video over X, (formerly known as Twitter) and wrote, “Russell Brand has known this day was coming for him since October 2017."
"Since then, he’s strategically cultivated and groomed a new mentally-malleable cult following that distrusts both women and the media so he can continue getting high on his other drug of choice — the spotlight,” the post continued.
British police have also asked women who made sexual assault claims on a Channel 4 documentary to talk to officers.
The 48-year-old has denied all allegations made by four women, who kept their identities hidden. One of them claimed she was sexually assaulted by Russell when they were in a relationship, and was only 16 at that time.
The police force said, “Officers are in contact with the woman and will be providing her with support.”
It added, “Anyone who believes they may have been a victim of a sexual offense, no matter how long ago it was, to contact us," reports AP.
What did people say about the influencer's claim?
Many supported her claim online, "Great work on the story—very good. It is not reasonable to believe however, he’s into wellness, yoga and recovery just to create a persona that would be able to refute the allegations. This failure to deal honestly with his past is troubling and should be dealt with legally," one wrote.
A user expressed his frustration, "So ridiculous... He should be on trial in a court, NOT by the media!"
Another commented, “Yes, it’s not shocking. But I am shocked of peoples reaction. His jokes have always been uncomfortable for me, too sexual and very degrading. Tv production companies covering up for a famous man yet again!” From my best friend, who lives in the UK, and is familiar with this apparently."
One said, "Russell Brand is culpable of that which he is accused. No one is surprised by this."
"I have never liked the guy! He is creepy and he looks like he smells to high heaven! Why he even became a Thing is completely lost on me!" shared a user.
