LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The ‘Today’ show hosted by Hoda Kotb and Savannah Guthrie has garnered a great deal of attention. On Wednesday, May 17, 2023, episode of the show, something exciting and flirty happened. NBC News Anchor and journalist Craig Melvin was left sweaty after he and A-list guest Rita Moreno exchanged flirty comments.
In a recent broadcast of the ‘Today’ show, the actress from the golden age of Hollywood, Rita Moreno, guest starred as she promoted her role in ‘Fast X’. The episode was going as usual until Kotb’s announcement led to an unexpected and teasing flirt on-air between Moreno and Craig Melvin.

Craig Melvin's blush-worthy encounter with Rita Moreno
Rita Moreno has recently been seen on the ‘Today’ show’s episode promoting her role as Abuela Toretto in the ‘Fast X’ saga franchise. She was listed as an A-list guest who left Craig Melvin all sweaty. Moreno, 90, appeared on the show but ended up receiving a flirtatious surprise. While talking with Kotb, the host announced to her that she would be given the first-ever ‘Today’ show icon award. Amazed and grateful for such an honor, Moreno was left charmed when the award was delivered by none other than host Craig Melvin. As he came out to give her the shiny piece of icon, Moreno was captivated by him more than the honor.
As Melvin kissed her hand, she said, enamored, “Hello, gorgeous, sit down, you animal. I’m intrigued here”. Melvin was awestruck and replied, “Hi there, cutie”. Moreno then gives him a side hug. After Melvin reveals that he has been her fan for a long time, Moreno asks him, still gushing all over him, “How long”? He replied, “Well, I’m in my early 40s”, and Moreno added, “And I’m in my early 90s”.
While Kotb was cracking up from the other side of the couch, Melvin continued to flirt with Moreno and teased, saying, “Well, if I weren’t married!” And Moreno replied, leaving Melvin bewildered and stunned, “Do we give a hoot?” Melvin blushed and leaned to Kotb for help, “We should go to commercial." In response, Kotb said the 91-year-old guest is at the point where “she don’t care”, and of course, we can all tell.
‘Today’ host Savannah Guthrie’s flirty attempt with guest Luke Grimes
This is not the first time that the ‘Today’ shows hosts are seen coy with their guests. Earlier this week, host Savannah Guthrie admitted her love to one of the guests starring in ‘Yellowstone’, Luke Grimes. Guthrie has greatly expressed her love for the popular Western drama, ‘Yellowstone’ on the morning show and her social media.
During the January broadcast, while hanging on the ‘Today’ show plaza, she shrieked after seeing one of the stars from her favorite show there with her. Her co-host Craig Melvin shared, "We've got some more stars coming up for you late on the Third Hour. including this guy, Luke Grimes is here”. Savannah was baffled and screamed, "Whaaat?” before she realized, "He's right here!"
When Luke approached the anchors, Guthrie hid her face, saying, “Oh my God!” She then told him, “Got a huge crush on you!” Adding more fire to Guthrie’s blushing, meteorologist Dylan Dreyer teased her, “I’ve never seen you blush like that”
