LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Jennifer Lopez has undeniable star power, and her joyful performances can win over anyone with her natural talent for acting and singing and fashion statements, but her height has been a matter of speculation for years.
However, the 'Marry Me' singer is very much petite, standing at 5 ft 4 in (1.63 m) -- though she claims herself to be 5 ft 6 in (1.68 m), as compared to her husband Ben Affleck, who stands tall at 6 ft 4 in (approx. 1.93m).
Lopez previously revealed on 'Live with Kelly and Mark,' "Ben is 6’3”, 6’4“, and I am tiny — I’m smaller. I’m like, 5’6”. But we make it work. He’s taller, and his arm’s up, and I walk like a step behind just to compensate," as per People magazine.
It appears that the diva had a strong sense of body confidence from an early age; she acknowledged in an interview with In Style that she was raised by strong, self-assured women who accentuated their curves.
Jennifer Lopez is 'really short compared to models'
As per TODAY, Lopez explained to Vogue in 2012, "I’m not a size 0 or 2. I’m not 6-feet-tall like a lot of the models that come around, and I’m like, ‘Wow, I’m really short compared to models!’"
Although Lopez probably has access to trainers, nutritionists, makeup artists, and other magical Hollywood fairies, her experience in front of the mirror is typical of most women, whether they are famous or not.
Lopez added in the Vogue interview, "I’m just a regular woman. I wear a size 6. You know, when I eat a little too much over the holidays, maybe a size 8. When I’m in shape, maybe a size 4."
The 54-year-old diva noted, "Being curvy or not, being 6 feet tall was never a bad thing; it was actually something that was celebrated."

Although Lopez is more than content with her height, there is no denying that she enjoys adding a little height to complement her 5 ft 4 in physique.
According to JLo, there are ways to add a bit of height while attempting to avoid the pain associated with wearing extremely high heels.
Lopez explained to Vogue in 2017, "By wearing heels frequently, you figure out how to distribute your weight and posture so that all the pressure isn't only on the arches of your feet, which is what usually causes pain."
Lopez has a much deeper emotional motivation for wearing heels than simply trying to gain a little height. Lopez likes her shoes so much that she even launched her own line - Jlo Jennifer Lopez Shoes, in 2020.

The 'Hustlers' actress gave an explanation on 'Live with Kelly and Mark' as to why she frequently appears to be standing behind her actor spouse while they are holding hands.
The show's hosts Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos, who admitted in March that they too "are arm length incompatible," agreed that it was difficult for them to hold hands because of their different arm lengths.
Lopez gushed over the 'AIR' star during an interview with Hoda Kotb on 'Today', adding, "Well, he's a wonderful, wonderful father. And a father figure to [Max and Emme] as well, because he has his own three beautiful children, and then there's us."
