LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Will Smith wished his youngest son Jaden Smith recently on his birthday. But simultaneously, he didn’t miss the opportunity to tease Jaden for not being a father at that age. As Jaden turned 25 on July 8, 2023, the ‘Men in Black’ actor took to Instagram to wish Jaden with a heartfelt yet cheeky message.
Referring to his son as J-Diggy, Smith wrote in the birthday tribute, “Happy Birthday, J-Diggy. It’s crazy that you’re 25?!?! When I was 25 I had a 2 yr. Old…,” referring to Trey Smith, his oldest son who he had with his ex-wife Sheree Zampino. The actor, 54, further continued, “I’m just sayin’… Wha’s up?” before asking casually, “What you doin’ over there?” He also noted that the photo was his favorite and said, “BTW, this is my favorite picture of us.”

The singer-actor-businessman was born on July 8, 1998, making him 25 years old this year. He is the second son of Will, whom the Oscar-winning actor had with his second wife Jada Pinkett Smith. Jaden has a younger sister Willow with whom he is very close. The two younger Smith children were the youth ambassadors of Project Zambi, a charitable organization that provides support to Zambian children orphaned due to AIDS.
Jaden previously attended New Village Leadership Academy. Later, he was homeschooled by his parents. He also founded a clothing line MSFTSrep with his sister Willow. He also has a stake in the spring water company Just Water. He also modeled for Louis Vuitton’s womenswear line in 2016. He was the first male to model Louis Vuitton’s womenswear line.

Will and Jaden Smith started their on-screen partnership with the 2013 box-office bomb ‘After Eartg’. The film’s abysmal failure made the critics write scathing reviews about the film and Jaden simultaneously. While the ‘Hitch’ star didn’t say much during that time, in his 2022 memoir, he revealed how the then fifteen-year-old Jaden took the blow. The teenager lost trust in his father’s leadership who “coached” him and wanted to be emancipated.
The ‘Aladdin’ star wrote, "After Earth was an abysmal box office and critical failure, and what was worse was that Jaden took the hit. Fans and the press were absolutely vicious; they said and printed things about Jaden that I refuse to repeat. Jaden had faithfully done everything that I'd instructed him to do, and I had coached him.” The disheartened father continued, “We never discussed it, but I know he felt betrayed. He felt misled, and he lost his trust in my leadership. At fifteen years old, when Jaden asked about being an emancipated minor, my heart shattered. He ultimately decided against it, but it sucks to feel like you've hurt your kids," as quoted by Hello! Magazine.
'He said give me a grandchild now!!!'
Fans took to Will's post to comment about his desire to have grandchildren. Jada's mother Adrienne Banfield Norris joked, "He’s smarter than you🤣🤣🤣😉." Barak Jacuzzi rationalized, "Our generation waiting til we grown a** adults before kids lol." A fan remarked, "He said give me a grandchild now!!! Lol." Another chirped, "Will wants grandkids.
