LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes who have managed to keep their private life well away from the public eye are looking forward to expanding their family, according to an insider who said, "Ryan and Eva would happily have more children."
The couple who first met on the sets of 'The Place Beyond the Pines' in 2011 "see their kids as a blessing and are teaching them independence and confidence," said the source, reported OK Magazine.
How many children does Ryan Gosling have?
The source also revealed that though Gosling and Mendes who share two children expressed their willingness to have more children, they are content to leave the decision of welcoming baby number three up to fate.
The 'Notebook' actor stepped back from the spotlight and took a break from 2018 to 2022 solely to "spend as much time with" his partner and their young daughters Esmeralda and Amanda. "I’m glad I didn’t have any control over my destiny in that way because it was so much better than I had ever dreamed for myself," Gosling said during a May interview. He further explained about taking a break from performing as he said, "I treat it more like work now, and not like it’s, you know, therapy. It’s a job, and I think in a way that allows me to be better at it because there’s less interference."
'I wasn’t thinking about kids before I met her'
Gosling stands different from other Hollywood stars who often guard their personal lives zealously. However, he recently talked about the early stages of his relationship with Mendes and his thoughts on having a family of his own. "I didn’t want to overshare, but now I also don’t want to misrepresent. I mean, it’s true, I wasn’t thinking about kids before I met her. But after I met Eva, I realized that I just didn’t want to have kids without her," said the 'Barbie' actor.
Talking about how he knew the 'Girl in Progress' actress was meant to be the mother of his children after the duo "pretended to be a family" during the shoot of 'The Place Beyond The Pines', Gosling recalled how he "didn’t want it to be pretend anymore."
"I realized this would be a life that I would be really lucky to have," he said. The actor went on praising his partner and talked about her role in parenting. "I just lean on Eva. She knows what’s important, always. She just somehow knows. So if I’m ever in my head about it, I just ask her," said Gosling.
