LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Kate Gosselin has responded to her son Collin’s accusation. The TV personality's son claimed that she abused him. However, Kate claimed that her 19-year-old son has received "multiple psychiatric diagnoses" and inpatient psychiatric treatment amid "unpredictable and violent behavior." She shares six children with her ex-Jon Gosselin, namely, Alexis, Aaden, Leah, Joel, Hannah, and Collin.
Earlier, Collin claimed Kate's uncontrollable emotions were visible when she separated from her husband after an ugly divorce, "I know my mother was going through a lot of things. I mean, a divorce and plenty of different things that can’t be easy to go through. And, you know, I want to think that she needed someone to take out her anger and frustration on, and it was just kind of me. I was in the way and I was there. So, she chose me," Collin said.
How did Kate Gosselin react to Collin's accusation?
Kate Gosselin opened up on his son’s latest attack on her, where Collin claimed that he had to face the fire while she went through an ‘ugly divorce.’ "I have never wanted to have to do this, but I feel I have been backed into a corner and left with no choice. Although it saddens me to do so, I need to speak out now," she told people. "My son Collin, whom I love with all my heart, has received multiple psychiatric diagnoses over the years. For the safety of myself, his brothers and sisters, and for his own well-being, he was placed in a facility following years of outpatient treatment which proved insufficient for his needs."
In 2016, Kate told Collin had ‘special needs,’ to which he responded with, "It's unfortunate that that's how my mom, you know, phrased me as a person. You know, I don't see those things and I don't think anybody else sees those things, but if that's how she sees me then, you know, that's her point of view."
'Kate is unable to control her abusive words'
Collin graduated high school this year and plans to serve in the Marines. His father Jon came to his defense after Kate’s latest statement, "Regarding these brand new false accusations, it seems clear that even today after not seeing her son since the 6th grade, Kate is unable to control her abusive words towards him. At this point, Collin is training to be a Marine in order to serve his country and is unable to respond to his mother’s callus lies."
