LAS VEGAS, NEVADA: On July 20, actor Jamie Foxx shared an unexpected photo with his nearly 17 million Instagram followers to tease a forthcoming endeavor, three months after having a medical issue. The 55-year-old Oscar winner posted a photo of himself to Instagram on Thursday along with the message, "Thankful for my @betmgm family and a great few nights in Vegas. We got BIG things coming soon." However, fans are uncertain whether he was even in the picture because of his unknown health crisis.
Per People, Foxx is in Las Vegas working on a project with BetMGM, an organization related to MGM Resorts that offers sports betting. He will reportedly play the lead role in all future commercials for the business, not just those during the football season. The post follows Foxx's initial announcement, "Appreciate all the love!!! Feeling blessed." Foxx has collaborated with MGM Resorts' online sportsbook previously, but it's not clear what "big" initiative he has in this regard.
Moments later, Corinne Foxx, his daughter, shared a picture with the 55-year-old on top of the speed racer on her personal Instagram Story. The 29-year-old wrote, "Year 4 of @betmgm in the books, so proud of you always Dad @iamjamiefoxx." According to their official website, the Oscar winner has appeared in several of the organization's 'The King of Sportsbooks' commercials.
'That’s the most AI generated picture ever'
Immediately after Foxx posted the latest update, several of his fans flocked to the comments to see how the A-lister appeared to be faring. Additionally, despite the Oscar winner appearing to be in good condition, several admirers claimed the picture was staged. One fan commented on Instagram, "Might be a AI generated picture of Jamie Foxx. I don't know what to believe." A second fan wrote, "I don’t understand why you haven’t talked to your fans yet? You used to talk to us all the time. This doesn’t make any kind of sense." A third one claimed, "Lots not AI generated. They can’t make fingers correctly."
One of his million followers wrote on Twitter, "Oh come on that’s the most AI generated picture ever. Let’s prove to the world I’m not dead… who owns an indie car I can bower for a picture." A second fan chimed in, "Bruh… we need video. This looks super A.I and photoshoped nowadays." Another one claimed, "This picture is AI generated Show us a video of him dancing then we’ll believe you." Someone else stressed, "I’m betting that it’s photoshop or AI generated."
'He was playing pickleball'
The hint of a new project notably comes three months after Foxx was admitted to the hospital with an undiagnosed illness. He was admitted to the hospital on April 11 but was soon released. Corinne, 29, posted on Instagram on May 12 to affirm that her father had been admitted for "weeks" despite rumors, even though the precise date of his discharge from the hospital is unknown. "Update from the family: Sad to see how the media runs wild. My Dad has been out of the hospital for weeks, recuperating. In fact, he was playing pickleball yesterday! Thanks for everyone’s prayers and support!" she wrote at the time.
Foxx was observed doing precisely that the previous week, seeming upbeat as he and a partner engaged in doubles match against two opponents. He was also recently seen playing golf at Topgolf in the Chicago suburb of Naperville on July 8 and cruising a boat along the Chicago River the next day. Foxx even exited an SUV on July 10 to retrieve a woman's misplaced purse in Chicago. Earlier this week, a source familiar to the actor and his team told People that the actor is "doing great."
Another insider told People that Foxx "has been working really hard these last couple of months to get back to normal and has greatly improved since he first got to the facility." The insider said Foxx also had a party "to celebrate being better." Despite his recent health crisis, Foxx has continued to promote the debut of his new film, 'They Cloned Tyrone,' which will air on Netflix on July 21.
