LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Lara Spencer and Robin Roberts, the two crown jewels of ABC’s daytime show ‘Good Morning America’ are tending to their duties away from the studio in the capital of the United Kingdom. The duo are covering the annual Wimbledon tennis tournament and also seem to be taking in the sights whenever they manage to squeeze time out of their busy schedules. While Robin posted throwback photos and interviews with tennis professionals, Lara decided to take a small detour around London.
The 54-year-old anchor took a stroll with a few friends and landed in Richmond, an affluent residential district that borders the River Thames. In the world of OTT series and fiction, Richmond serves as the location for the hit Apple TV+ show ‘Ted Lasso’ and Lara seemed to be a fan of the show. As she reached Richmond, the ‘GMA’ star didn’t forget the importance of the place and posted a series of photos paying a small homage to the TV show.
‘Couldn’t find Ted’
The ‘GMA’ anchor had recently been posting snaps of her time covering the Wimbledon tournament with co-host and traveler, Robin Roberts. But her latest post featured the neighbourhood of Richmond which Lara explained as a small side trip on her vacation. She clicked herself outside a bar named ‘Fullers’ which is run by a woman named Mae in ‘Ted Lasso.’ While honoring the show, Lara captioned her Instagram post, “Side trip to Richmond!!! Couldn't find Ted but did find the pub!!!! #tedlasso #greyhounds” Lara was seen enjoying a few drinks with her two friends who accompanied her on this outing.
Her post received a lot of adoration from the fans who recognized her love for ‘Ted Lasso.’ One fan wrote in the comment section, “LOVE THAT! As the man once said… the harder you work, the luckier you get!” #tedlassoquotes” while another asked her to visit Ted’s flat, “Go down the street to Ted’s flat and the lovely shops…and the waterfront.” A third mentioned a dialogue from the show and complimented Lara, “I love it! Be the goldfish!” and a fourth couldn’t help but mention, “My bday lunch is Richmond… theme Ted Lasso of course! @hannah_waddingham here we go.
