LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Gayle King has spent all summer having the time of her life at different concerts of iconic artists like Beyonce, Taylor Swift, and Bruce Springsteen. But it seems like she has definitely missed one artist being on tour in particular, that being Harry Styles.
The 'CBS Mornings' host recently shared a throwback from one of the Madison Square Garden shows of the popstar that took place in August and September last year. She looked back at the moment when she got the opportunity to honor Styles for his record-breaking number of consecutive sold-out shows in the legendary arena.
Gayle King recalls Harry Styles' MSG concert night
The morning show host made a throwback post on her official Instagram account with a series of photos and videos from the Styles' September show at the garden.
"Do you remember 21st day of September? Cue @earthwindandfire Last year on stage w/@harrystyles! He had broken record for sold out shows @thegarden..thanx @julia_neisloss for the reminder & these pix!!!!"
The post showed King, with big smiles as usual, covered in colorful boas which is quite representative of a classic Harry Styles concert aesthetic.
One of the photos was of the show host hugging the popstar on stage when she had surprised him by presenting a banner, honoring his 15 sold-out consecutive shows in New York City, Styles being the first-ever artist to do so.
"I was there too. Incredible night!" a fan commented under her post. "Best night ever!!!" King's company for the night, Julia Neiloss, wrote in the comments. Another fan wrote, "Living the dream!!!"
Gayle King got Harry Styles emotional at the Garden show
King's presentation for Styles iconic feat got the former boyband star emotional over his journey from being an X Factor contestant to one of the biggest and most loved artists in the world.
Styles was presented with the banner "Harry Styles: 15 Consecutive Nights at the Garden", which would continue to hang at the arena alongside the banners of Billy Joel and Phish. The 'As It Was' singer was left speechless as King announced that the banner would stay up there forever.
King was also joined by actress and show host Drew Barrymore on the memorable night of the concert.
