NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: The news network loved by the Republicans of the country, Fox News, has retained its crown as the top-rated choice among other major networks.
The network has managed to keep this title for 30 consecutive months without caving into the several ups and downs faced by its shows over the years.
This includes the sudden departure of the primetime show host Tucker Carlson who brought in big numbers from the conservative audience for his nightly show on the channel.
Fox News hosted the first ever Presidential Debate with the GOP candidates a week ago for the elections in 2024.
Tucker Carlson's sudden departure hit Fox's ratings temporarily
It is no secret that Carlson's association with Fox News was a significant factor in how the network maintained sky-high ratings from dedicated television viewers in the past.
So, it was inevitable that the network would shed some viewers — the ones who had previously tuned in to watch show 'Tucker Carlson Tonight'.
In July, their ratings dipped by 50 percent for the slot that was formerly taken up by Carlson with overall audience numbers dropping drastically just weeks after the show was terminated.
The 8 pm ET slot was then filled in by the permanent primetime show 'Jesse Watters Primetime' hosted by 'The Five' host.
It struggled to bring in the same audience as Carlson at first until eventually, it rose in popularity amongst the other primetime shows on the network.
Currently, the two shows Watters is regularly hosting are the highest-rated for the month.
'The Five' takes the #1 spot in Fox News ratings
'The Five', with Jesse Watters as one of the co-hosts, was crowned as the highest-rated show for August 2023, bringing in around 2.73 million viewers to the network.
This was followed by Watters' solo show. The TV host, with his own primetime show, drew in almost 2.48 million viewers on his own steam.
Other primetime shows like Sean Hannity's 'Hannity' were a close third with 2.388 million viewers with the fifth in the ranks being the late-night show hosted by Greg Gutfeld called 'Gutfeld!' standing at 1.955 million viewers.
'Hannity' also went on the pedestal for being the most valued by advertisers, with 289,000 viewers in the bag. 'The Five', 'Gutfeld!' and 'Jesse Watters Primetime' also made it to the top five.
