LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Joy Behar had been fairly inactive on Twitter in the last month in addition to not posting on Instagram for the last two years. Donald Trump's indictment brought her back on Twitter. Behar had some strong opinions which she accompanied with humor on ‘The View’ but this time, she has a demand.
Trump’s indictment on August 1, 2023, has taken the world and the internet by storm, and Behar wouldn’t be the first co-host from ‘The View’ to tweet about it. Republicans Alyssa Farah Griffin and Ana Navarro have also done the same, but Behar has an interesting request regarding the trial.
Behar’s demand
On August 1, former President Donald Trump was indicted for the third time. This time, it was around the inquiries that took place after the attack on the US Capitol on January 6, 2021. ‘The View’ will likely be discussing the indictment on Wednesday, since they have addressed and thoroughly covered all events leading up to it. Behar, who is a permanent co-host, will also be present for the same. However, before she appears on the talk show, Behar tweeted not once, but twice about the indictment. Behar’s first tweet read, “Did DJT actually think he would get away with all his crimes indefinitely? I know he skated through before, but this time the big boys and girls are on the case. Stay tuned.” In her second tweet, the comedian and co-host made a demand regarding Trump’s trial as she wrote, “#televise the trial.”
‘We’re the intended victims’
Behar’s fans agreed with her as they responded to her tweet. One fan wrote, “I agree with you all the way,” while another tweeted, “Please televise it.” Some fans are also glad that this indictment took place before ‘The View’ went on the August hiatus before the new season as one wrote, “It's great that the announcement of indictment #3 was made before The View goes on vacation. Your reaction in particular is always A++++.” A fourth fan tweeted, “Yes. The American people deserve it!” Another said, “YES. We're the intended victims of the crime, after all.” Some people have also pointed out that televising Trump’s trial could “wake” more people up as one tweeted, “That we definitely need. To wake people up.”
