MANCHESTER, ENGLAND: During a game of Confession, 'Oppenheimer' stars, Matt Damon and Emily Blunt, discussed a number of statements, and whether they agreed or disagreed with them. The topic of kissing co-stars arose when the statement, "You should tell someone if they have bad breath," came up. Damon recalled an instance during the shooting of his 2011 comedy film, 'We Bought A Zoo', where he had to kiss Scarlett Johansson.
Damon admitted that the scene turned out to be not what he expected. However, both Damon and Blunt agreed that rather than directly telling a person if they had bad breath, they would instead offer them some gum as a subtle way of addressing the issue.
Does Scarlett Johansson have bad breath?
Damon recalled that he had to kiss Johansson for a scene when ‘We Bought a Zoo’ was being filmed. He joked that it was "hell" to kiss the 'Marriage Story' actress.
Damon said, "What happened was, we did a shot before lunch, and it was this nice little two-shot that ended in the kiss. And it was really good. And we went to lunch, and she and I both thought it was over. She [Johansson] ate like an onion sandwich for lunch."
"Can you image how horrible that was for me?” Damon continued, adding, “We went to lunch and she and I both thought it was over. She ate an onion sandwich for lunch and she came in and Cameron Crowe had set the camera up and it was a tight shot of the kiss, and she goes, ‘Oh s**t, I literally just had an onion sandwich!’”
