AUSTIN, TEXAS: Joe Rogan needs no introduction! With already so much under his belt, and considering Rogan's outspoken nature, he has been in the public eye for years, and his appearance has been a topic of discussion among fans and critics. Among these discussions, one of the most talked-about subjects regarding Rogan is his skin condition, with many speculating that he has vitiligo.
Vitiligo is a condition that commonly leads to patches of depigmented or reduced skin color. It occurs when the cells responsible for producing melanin, which gives skin its color, stop producing it. While vitiligo is neither contagious nor life-threatening, it can result in social stigma.
Does Joe Rogan have vitiligo?
In episode #1424 of the 'Joe Rogan Experience' (JRE) podcast in February 2020, Rogan openly shared that he has vitiligo. He also mentioned that following a month of exclusively eating a carnivorous diet had led to significant improvements in his skin condition. Rogan stated, "I know quite a few people who that've done it [carnivore diet] that have had some serious results... Serious results with autoimmune issues too. I have vitiligo which is an autoimmune disease, which causes you to have these patches where you don't have any pigment, and this month I have the best results I've ever had with vitiligo, with spots filling in."
The 55-year-old man acknowledged that his condition varies depending on how well he takes care of his body. Rogan further stated that autoimmune illnesses can be attributed to junk food, particularly processed sugars. During the program, he revealed that he typically follows a carnivorous diet, consuming two meals per day. In a previous Instagram post, the American podcaster also praised the all-meat diet for alleviating many of his physical aches and issues.
Rogan's morning routine
During the 'JRE MMA' Show #30 in June 2018, Joe Rogan shared with UFC fighter Sean O'Malley his morning routine, which included fasting, exercise, or yoga. In the afternoons, Rogan mentioned practicing martial arts or weightlifting. He said, "Fasted cardio, that's what I like to do or fasted yoga... So intermittent fasting and then I usually like yoga or running... And then I do something in the afternoon, either martial arts related or weightlifting related."
Rogan also revealed during the episode that he regularly spent an hour or two in sauna sessions. Additionally, he told O'Malley that he had been following a kimchi and elk meat diet for the past four months during that time in 2018.
