LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: If there is one co-host from ‘The View’ who is truly a social media aficionado, it is Ana Navarro. From Twitter to Instagram, she is a regular poster and doesn’t shy away from her frequent controversial posts either. Now, Navarro has made her way to the latest app by Mark Zuckerberg, Threads.
One of the prominent Hot Topics on ‘The View’ was this latest social media app, and while each and every co-host had something to say about it, Navarro focussed particularly on Elon Musk. The host has spread her social media presence across Instagram, Twitter and Threads, but doesn't seem too pleased with Musk.
‘Threat to Twitter’
The conversation about the Threads app was started by Whoopi Goldberg as she read her cue card with a dramatic pause, “There’s a new threat to Twitter.” Navarro was the first to clap at this statement, and slowly the audience joined in too. The camera even panned to Navarro, who rejoiced at the fact that Twitter now had equal competition. Goldberg then asked her co-hosts about what they thought, and each and every one talked about their experience with Twitter and Threads. As of today, Goldberg, Sara Haines, Navarro, Alyssa Farah Griffin, and Suny Hostin are all on Threads, the only co-host missing on the new app is Joy Behar.
‘Can he just go to space’
Once all the co-hosts are done talking about their experiences, Navarro finally takes the stage after patiently waiting for her turn. She says, “I joined too because it’s not owned by Elon Musk, and that in itself is enough for me to join. You know, I just don’t understand how somebody with as much money as Elon Musk, and as many children as Elon Musk, as many projects as Elon Musk, can be so…have so much time to be trolling and spreading hate and misinformation on this platform that went from going downhill to going right off the cliff. You know, this guy, can he just maybe go to space, stay there?”
Navarro had a bitter expression on her face as she fumbled over her words as she talked about how Twitter has done both good and bad for the world. She once again talked about Musk, “He has no intention of stopping the lies and the misinformation, and that’s a problem.” Navarro is slowly and steadily making the transition from Twitter to Threads but still seems hooked on the former.
