LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Britney Spears reportedly busted her head during an 'explosive' fight with her now estranged husband, Sam Asghari, a new TV special states. TMZ founder Harvey Levin made the shocking revelation in 'Britney Spears: Divorce & Despair,' which aired Thursday, August 24, on Fox.
He said the divorced couple once had a serious altercation in London which led the "Princess of Pop" to get badly injured and require medical assistance. “She and Sam were going at it in a hotel room, and it got so bad [that] she tripped and hit the coffee table, cracking her head open,” Levin claimed as per Page Six. “She needed stitches.”
Spears' mercurial attitude became too much for Asghari
In the TMZ Investigates” episode, executive producer Charles Latibeaudiere said that Spears’ alleged “volatility” eventually became “too much” for Asghari “to take," which resulted in the actor seeking court's help on August 16 to end their marriage after just over a year.
Asghari reportedly thought that Spears was cheating
The outlet previously reported that Asghari, 29, surmised Spears, 41, had been cheating on him with a staff member at her home. The 'Baby One More Time' singer also allegedly once physically attacked the former personal trainer during his sleep that left him with a black eye.
However, sources close to Spears debunked those allegations. “There was no cheating. And he’s 6 foot 2 and she’s 5 foot 4, so how could she attack him?” one insider told Page Six. As of now, neither Spears nor Asghari have publicly addressed TMZ’s reports.
Asghari made a short post on Instagram on August 17, that “s–t happens,” while Spears addressed her massive 42 million followers a couple of days later that she “was a little shocked” but “couldn’t take the pain anymore.”
The pair dated for six years before tying the knot
According to the sources, Britney and Asghari started dating each other in 2016 before tying the knot in June last year. The couple also signed an “iron-clad” prenuptial agreement that safeguards the popstar's assets. It has also been reported by the outlet that Asghari “certainly will not profit from” Spears’ upcoming memoir, “The Woman in Me.”
The highly awaited book is still set to hit stores on October 24 but it is unlikely the multimillionaire superstar will be able to change its fairy-tale ending with the release date coming up so soon. However, despite all the drama, Spears is “in really great spirits” and “focused” on work which includes an upcoming songwriters camp for her first album since 2016.
