NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Retired Hollywood actor Daniel Day-Lewis was spotted for the first time in four years in a black baseball cap and striking blue tracksuit in New York City on Thursday, May 18. Day-Lewis, probably the greatest actor of all time, has successfully kept a low profile since he retired from acting in 2017 but was surprisingly pictured as he stepped out in the afternoon sunshine to take a call on a flip phone.
The 66-year-old Oscar winner also sported a white T-shirt, a pair of tinted shades, and black sneakers. He was also spotted the following day while he went on a lunch date with his wife, Rebecca Miller in the West Village neighborhood.

The only actor to win three Oscars in the Best Actor category was last spotted in public in 2019. At that time, he was pictured on the New York City subway using a similar flip phone. The 'There Will Be Blood' star was similarly low-key in those pictures and was wearing a black beanie hat, thick-rimmed glasses, along with a black jacket. The actor said he had no desire to act in any more movies after starring in 2017's critically acclaimed film, 'Phantom Thread'.
