LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Supermodel Cindy Crawford, 57, has broken her silence on her past relationship with ex-husband Richard Gere, 74.
The iconic fashion figure opened up about her former relationship with Gere, who was 17 years her senior, in the latest installment of her docuseries 'The Super Models' now available for streaming on Apple TV+.
"In the beginning of a relationship, when you’re a young woman, you’re like ‘You like baseball? I like baseball. You’re really into Tibetan Buddhism? I might be into that. I’ll try that,’" the Vogue cover star admitted, referring to the now 74-year-old Gere’s known religion.
"You’re willing to kind of mold yourself around whoever you are in love with," she continued, as per the NY Post. "He was older, so I just was like in a different circle and not doing some of those same fashiony things anymore."

"It wasn't the wedding I dreamed of. It was so last minute I wore this Armani suit. It was a nice Armani suit, but I didn't dream of getting married in a navy blue suit. And the ring was made out of tinfoil because it was so last minute. But I did have Herb Ritts as my bridesmaid — and taking the pictures!"
Cindy Crawford and Richard Gere got divorced in 1995
Crawford and Gere's marriage came to an end in 1995 primarily due to their significant age difference and divergent priorities.
Gere was 17 years older than Crawford, and their varying stages in life contributed to their eventual divorce.
In 2015, Crawford told Porter magazine, per People, that she and Gere "didn't spend enough time together" throughout their marriage.
"I was still 22, and at 22 — as a young woman — I was kind of still figuring out who I was and what I wanted to be," Crawford said on Oprah's Master Class.
"I just think your 20s for women is such a time when you're starting to come into your own and feel your own power and connect to your inner strength, and it's hard to do that — it's hard to change — in a relationship, because what one person might have signed up for, all of a sudden, you're not that anymore."
She added, "I think I was more willing at 22 to be, like, 'OK, I'll follow,' but then you start going, 'Well, I don't want to just follow — I want to lead sometimes, and I want to walk side-by-side sometimes.'"

In 2016, Crawford told Today, "We're friendly, but I think it's almost like he's gone back to being, like, 'Richard Gere' again, like a stranger, because we don't really see each other that much."
"I think part of the problem in our relationship was that we were a lot of other things, but I don't know if we were ever friends — like peers, because I was young, and he was Richard Gere. And then, as I started kind of growing up and growing into myself — it's hard to change the nature of a relationship once you're already in it," she said.
