LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Kevin Costner's wife Christine Baumgartner claimed that her husband was "out of touch with reality" when she informed them that their marriage was over. She further said that he had acted "aggressively" when he heard the news. Shocking court records show that once Baumgartner told Costner she wanted a divorce on April 11, 2023, the enraged 'Yellowstone' star instantly got defensive and made a beeline to his attorneys, including the dreaded Laura Wasser. "Kevin quickly engaged his lawyers," Christine complained in a seven-page declaration.
And after serving her 18-year-old husband with divorce papers on May 1, the 'Dances With Wolves' actor told the stay-at-home mother and essentially their three children, ages 16, 14, and 13, to "vacate the premises" by June 2. Christine revealed the emotional turbulence in the home for the first time. "This demand itself was very aggressive move to make towards me, the mother and primary caretaker of our three children, especially since have no income and almost no assets in my own right," she said, as reported by RadarOnline. Christine also suggested that the 'Hidden Figures' actor was evidently blinded by wrath because he failed to consider the psychological effects that the abrupt 30-day move-out provision provided in their 2004 prenuptial agreement (PMA) would have on the children.

'This behavior is unfortunately consistent with Kevin's attitude'
Christine said, "This behavior is unfortunately consistent with Kevin's attitude about this divorce, which has quickly taken litigious turn, despite my efforts to keep this process as amicable as possible, The children's welfare is and has always been my highest priority."
She added, "Kevin claims that the 'children will not be disrupted by my imminent move' is out of touch with reality." She further added, "Kevin is ignoring the impact that moving out without a financial plan in place would have on the children and is focused only on the move out provision in the PMA."

Amid the feud, Kevin has launched a vicious assault against his estranged wife, accusing her of damaging his reputation and launching a publicity campaign during their current divorce procedures. Current conflicts are surrounding Christine's refusal to leave Costner's $145 million estate outside Santa Barbara, California, and demand of $248K in monthly support instead of the meager $38K per month specified in the PMA. The high-profile divorce has taken an ugly turn now.
The children have lived in the posh beachside neighborhood of Carpinteria their whole lives, but according to Christine, she cannot afford to continue the movie star lifestyle they are used to, let alone pay the exorbitant rent there.
