'CBS Mornings' host Gayle King was tasked with the unusual as she switched her morning show for the day to celebrate a big day for an old friend.
King was invited to the bachelorette party of the 'Good Morning America' host Robin Roberts --- all the way across the street!
The CBS host decided to leave early from work for the on-air party that included several guests to celebrate Roberts finally tying the knot.
Gayle King takes off from work early to go to 'GMA'
Gayle King came to work and reported news and affairs as per usual. So, it was quite strange when she was nowhere to be found at the end of the morning segments.
Turns out, she was fulfilling her duty as an old friend duties at another morning show, which just required her to change outfits and take a little walk down the street to the 'GMA' studio.
In a short vlog, King revealed that she had been invited to Roberts and her soon-to-be wife Amber Laign's engagement party and bachelorette on the set of 'GMA'.
Dressed in a pink ensemble, King carried a big neon gift bag with her which was supposed to be a congratulatory present for the newly wedded couple.
"I have known Robin since 1994," King said, revealing the two legendary TV personalities' friendship that goes way back.

In photos shared by Gaylr King, the whole 'GMA' set seemed to have been transformed into a beach away from the beach.
The guests were handed over boas and cocktails with tiny umbrellas. They had also invited the band En Vogue for musical fun at the party.
Roberts gave a special shout-out to King for leaving her work duties for the little party. "Can we say that Gayle King has made her way here?" Roberts announced as all the partygoers gave a round of applause.
"I mean, come on, she's a little busy in the mornings too. For her to make the time to be here means a lot," she added.
