CALABASAS, CALIFORNIA: 'The Kardashian' Kim Kardashian recently collaborated with rapper Cardi B for her SKIMS new cotton collection. However, the rapper was brutally mocked over her voice.
Kim shared a video advertisement featuring Cardi on her Instagram account. The video showed Cardi decked out in the shapewear brand's clothing as she lay on her floor.
The rapper flipped her long, red hair to the side, showing off her tanned-coloured, skintight top and matching form-fitting shorts. At the end of the video, Cardi recited, "Everybody's wearing Skims. Are you?"
A social media user commented underneath Kim and Cardi's collab campaign video, "Her voice sounds like she’s being her funny self not serious ?." Another user added, "Not cardi using her Kim k voice ?."
"Cardi couldn’t even sell out her Reebok shoes ?," said another critic. Another person noted, "Cardi said let me put on the Kardashian voice real quick."
Another follower asked, "Why couldn’t she say it like cardi?? .. that didn’t even sound or feel right lol." Another Instagram user noted, "She should have just kept quiet n the commercial would have been perfect ?."
Kim Kardashian teams up with hip-hop stars Ice Spice and SZA for SKIMS
Cardi B has recently completed Kim Kardashian's trifecta along with Ice Spice and SZA of Hip Hop stars who model for Skims. Kim and Spice along with PinkPantheress, Nessa Barrett and RAYE for the next generation of SKIMS shapewear.
Kim's Everyday Sculpt Collection featured lightweight pieces ranging from an Everyday Sculpt Bralette ($68) to an Open Bust Catsuit ($88). However, in March, Kim teamed up with another hip-hop star, SZA, for the 'Fits Everybody' collection.
Since it was founded in 2019, the shapewear brand's iconic campaigns have collaborated with multiple stars including Paris Jackson, Jenny McCarthy, Carmen Electra, Kourtney Kardashian, Megan Fox, Brooke Shields, Chelsea Handler and Juliette Lewis.
Cardi B and Offset receive backlash from PETA
Cardi B's SKIMS campaign for Kim Kardashian comes amid her PETA controversy. The rapper recently celebrated her birthday and Offset gifted her three new crocodile Birkin bags.
However, PETA slammed the rapper, who spent hundreds of thousands on presents for his wife, going into gruesome details about how her bags were made.
PETA Vice President Lisa Lange said in a statement, "Instead of using his wealth and influence for good, Offset chose to funnel hundreds of thousands of dollars into a gruesome, violent industry that electroshocks crocodiles, shoves metal rods into their heads in an attempt to scramble their brains, and mutilates them while they’re still alive."
Cardi B slams Kim Kardashian's ex-husband Kanye West over his leaked comment
Kim Kardashian's ex-husband Kanye West's video dishing about Cardi B's rise to fame recently went viral on social media. The rapper took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to emphasize a point made by Kanye after he blasted her talent.
According to HotNnewHipHop, Kanye spoke about Cardi B in a leaked segment from an unreleased documentary. In the viral video, Kanye ranted about Cardi B while on the phone.
Kanye said, "Cardi B is a plant by the Illuminati. She don't write her raps, she's just there to sound as ignorant as possible... You know, she has literally replaced Nicki Minaj purposefully." He added, "They put her there, and now she doesn't know what to do, she has no idea what the f**k is going on."
Kanye concluded, "She thinks it's just a blessing from the universe. It ain't no blessing from the f**king universe." In response, Cardi shared an old interview in which Kanye talk about his collab with the so-called plant.
Kanye said in the interview with Hollywood Unlocked, "My cousins were saying 'come by here' yesterday but I was finishing that verse for your girl, you know what I mean. Like I always believed in her." Cardi posted the affirmative clip and added a red heart emoji in a now-deleted tweet.
