CLEVELAND, OHIO: Despite the termination of the KingPyn boxing tournament and the company's alleged bankruptcy, Jake Paul's promotional company, Most Valuable Promotions (MVP), has provided some good news.
The high stakes influencer-boxing tournament by KingPyn was supposed to take place over several events throughout the year. The quarterfinals were held on April 22 at the OVO Arena in London, with the semi-finals taking place on July 1 in Dublin. However, as sources suggest, KingPyn has filed for bankruptcy, resulting in the cancellation of the entire event. But apparently, this isn't the end of KingPyn as Paul might lend them a helping hand.
Can Jake Paul save bankrupt KingPyn?
Following the announcement of KingPyn's loss, Paul's Most Valuable Promotions issued a tweet, ostensibly implying that 'The Problem Child' will save the company. The now-deleted tweet read, "MVP usually ignores anything that comes from this account. No understanding of boxing or business." It was captioned as, "KingPyn lives." A user shared a screenshot on Twitter with the caption, "Jake Paul hinting at funding Kingpyn?"
Needless to say, the mysterious tweets sparked an uproar among admirers, with one fan saying, "Makes sense if mvp bought them out or a large part of it so they can compete in the influencer field and against misfits." Another user wrote, "This shows how nice of a guy Jake is he is helping out smaller promotions meanwhile ksi is trying to make them fail."
What is MVP?
MVP is a boxing promotions firm led by Paul, who has earned a name for himself in the influencer-boxing field since beginning his career in 2018. In addition to his streaming interests, Paul founded MVP to enter the boxing business.
The organization has previously said that its primary goal is to uncover, nurture, and maximize the potential of its own event and talent partners. It also promises to provide higher remuneration and possibilities for combatants.
MVP has co-promoted key events featuring Paul, including notable fights against Tyrone Woodley, Anderson Silva, and Tommy Fury. The firm has also signed top women's boxer, Amanda Serrano, and is collaborating with her to organize the historic battle versus Katie Taylor at Madison Square Garden in 2022.
MVP developed 'Most Valuable Prospects', a boxing series aimed to showcase growing talent in boxing with championship caliber and goals, to broaden its reach and further carry out the company's vision. The first event was held in May of this year at the Caribe Royale Resort in Orlando, Florida. The first event featured Ashton Sylve, a 19-year-old boxer signed by MVP in April 2022.
