LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Avril Lavigne ended her four-month romance with Tyga because she "didn't want to be tied down," according to insiders close to the rock star. Apparently, the rapper was only her "rebound" after her nasty breakup with her ex-fiance Mod Sun. "It came down to this. Avril didn't want to be locked into anything. Tyga was a rebound and he helped her get away from her toxic relationship with Mod Sun," a close friend of Avril, 38, revealed to DailyMail.
Mod Sun, 36, claimed in February that Avril's choice to end things caught him off guard. Avril was sighted out during that time with Tyga, 33, which led some people to think that she cheated on Mod with the rapper. The source emphasized that this was untrue, though. "Avril didn't cheat on Mod. She was simply over his BS and Tyga was an easy distraction," the insider said.
'Their worlds do not overlap'
Avril and Tyga split up "a couple of weeks ago," according to the first story from TMZ. The source reportedly informed that they "ended on good terms" and were "still friends." Even though they are probably friendly, the insider claims that "you will not see them grabbing a bite to eat or going to the movies together anytime, ever. They come from different worlds and their worlds do not overlap. It was good for what it was."
Taylor Swift and Matty Healy affair rumors
The two musicians' relationship is somewhat comparable to the Matty Healy and Taylor Swift affair that was the subject of allegations following Swift's breakup with Joe Alwyn. In May, The Sun reported that the 33-year-old pop queen had moved on with The 1975 vocalist, 34, less than a month after it was revealed that she and Alwyn had dissolved their six-year romance. Even though many fans originally discounted the rumor that the singers are "madly in love," it became much more difficult to dismiss after Healy traveled all the way from the Philippines to see Swift perform in Nashville on May 5.
