AUSTIN, TEXAS: The wrestling ommunity was taken aback when Logan Paul announced his participation in the Money in the Bank ladder match. After his last bout at WrestleMania 39, the YouTuber just made a comeback on WWE TV.
The Maverick will compete with six other superstars on June 1 to win the MITB contract that ensures a future championship match. There were reports that he might compete against John Cena at The Biggest Party of the Summer, but those plans have likely been abandoned.
Logan Paul vs Grayson Waller
According to a recent report from Xero News via Wrestle Buddy, Grayson Waller, the newest member of SmackDown, will likely face Logan Paul. Even at Money in the Bank, the latter may show up and cost The Maverick the ladder match. It seems that the purpose of the forthcoming SmackDown segment is to set the stage.
As WWE gradually introduces him to the main roster fans, the brash Australian has adapted to his place in the blue brand very well. There were subliminal hints that AJ Styles might be the target of a quarrel shortly, but the veteran has now picked up the fight with Karrion Kross.
There have been several reports regarding Logan Paul's opponent at SummerSlam, including Ricochet, Bad Bunny, and possibly world heavyweight champion Seth Rollins.
Logan Paul was identified by Grayson Waller as the ideal opponent for him in the past, and on The Grandest Stage no less. In addition, the 33-year-old said he wanted to "expose" the online sensation.
'I had to go to the biggest star'
Logan Paul will be on 'The Grayson Waller Effect' as SmackDown comes from the UK's O2 Arena. Backstage, Waller discussed his experience working for the blue brand so far with Megan Morant.
He said, “It's been a wild ride since I got to SmackDown. The Grayson Waller Effect has always been a big talk show. Week after week I have the biggest stars. Tonight I have Pretty Deadly, the future tag team champions. I had Charlotte Flair on the show, possible future women's champion. But we're going to London, England. The night before Money in the Bank. We have to go big. I had to go to the biggest star I could find, and there was no bigger star than the social media superstar, Logan Paul.”
Waller continued by saying that he has a bond with The Maverick despite the alleged animosity that some other WWE Superstars have for him. Grayson Waller hasn't engaged in a genuine feud or even a match since being selected for the blue brand.
