BUCHAREST, ROMANIA: Andrew Tate, the self-proclaimed provocative influencer, found himself embroiled in a conflict with BBC journalist Matt Sheaa, all over a box of chocolates.
This feud took center stage in a documentary titled 'Andrew Tate: The Man Who Groomed The World?' directed by Shea, and it has just been unveiled on BBC's iPlayer.
The dynamic between Tate and Shea has been far from harmonious, marked by a long and complex history.
They initially became friends, with Shea even making appearances on Andrew's Emergency Meeting podcast.
However, their relationship soured over time, transforming them into enemies who frequently exchanged verbal jabs.
Recently, Andrew Tate reignited his public criticism of Shea in light of the documentary's release, vehemently asserting that it contained misinformation and inaccuracies.
Andrew Tate locks out Matt Shea for not receiving chocolates
Andrew's online community showcased a rather peculiar standoff between Shea and the controversial influencer, all revolving around a seemingly innocent box of chocolates.
According to a report by the Daily Mail, within the documentary, there's a particularly bizarre sequence where Shea embarks on a journey to Andrew's compound in Bucharest, Romania.
This visit coincided with a period when Andrew and his brother Tristan Tate were placed under house arrest.
Shea's objective was to interview the divisive influencer regarding the charges he was facing.
However, this endeavor took an unexpected turn when Shea refused to hand over a box of chocolates that Andrew had requested before the interview.
As Shea insisted that he would give Andrew the chocolates once he met him in person, one of Andrew's associates countered by stating that the influencer wouldn't entertain the idea of leaving his residence unless Shea presented the chocolates beforehand.
As Shea continued to investigate, he uncovered the rather eccentric fact that this peculiar chocolate ritual was one of Andrew's preferred methods for exerting control over individuals.
As per the Daily Mail, Shea says, "No I'm not gonna give you the chocolate if he comes out I'll give him."
Further Shea tells Andrew's doorman, "Andrew has been accused of really serious crimes, he should take this seriously." To this, the doorman says, "So, you gonna give me the chocolate."
After the doorman denies Dhea entry into the Tate mansion and continuously demands chocolate, Shea asserts, "You must realize how silly this looks."
Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan Tate call Matt Shea a 'geek'
During this rather peculiar exchange, Andrew, whose voice emanates from a speakerphone in the hand of his doorman, goes on a rambling discourse about his ability to determine the relevance of reporters.
He asserts that this power is a consequence of his status as the most relevant person on the planet. In an almost charitable act, he allows certain individuals to sit next to him.
All the while, Andrew's staff members tirelessly document Shea and his crew's presence.
As per the Daily Mail, Andrew says, "Because I am the most relevant person on the planet and I get to do the charitable act of sitting next to somebody."
As reported by the Daily Mail, after being denied entry into the mansion, Andrew, who is observing Shea from the safety of his CCTV feed and simultaneously broadcasting himself on a streaming platform, joins in laughter with his brother Tristan.
In a rather disdainful tone, he labels Shea a 'geek'.
