LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'Good Morning America' star Robin Roberts has left out two of her former colleagues from her wedding guest list, following their alleged affair that rocked the network
Amy Robach and TJ Holmes, who used to co-host 'GMA3', are not invited to Robin’s nuptials with her longtime partner Amber Laign, a source told US Sun.
How did Amy Robach feel about not being invited to the wedding?
The source said that Amy and TJ are furious with Robin, who they thought would stand up for them when their scandal came out.
“Amy and TJ are not invited, and Amy is furious about it. She and Robin were far more than work colleagues, they shared a deep friendship,” the insider said.
“Robin had the power to save Amy and TJ, she is that powerful at ABC, and she didn’t. She could have made the case that despite everything they are two consenting adults, and they were separated, but she chose not to.”
What had brought Robin and Amy closer to each other?
The source added that Robin and Amy grew closer after Amy was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2013, following a live mammogram on TV that Robin encouraged her to do.
“Robin and I instantly became sisters,” Amy said in an interview in 2021. The insider also revealed that Amy and Lara Spencer would compete for Robin’s attention, and Robin loved it.
However, Robin’s loyalty seems to have faded after Amy and TJ were caught having an affair, while both were married to other people.
The source further told the outlet that Robin keeps a very tight and trusted circle of friends, and that her guest list will include people she actually wants there, “She isn’t inviting people because she has to.”
When are Robin Roberts and Amber Laign getting married?
Robin’s wedding to Amber, whom she has been dating since 2005, was scheduled for Friday, September 8.
The couple has hired wedding planner JoAnn Gregoli of Elegant Occasions to create a romantic and ethereal theme for their big day.
The decor will feature a flower wall with pink and cream colours, a monogrammed AR in gold cursive, gold candles and roses, and gold-rimmed glasses.
JoAnn said that Robin and Amber wanted their wedding to be like a “midsummer’s night dream.”
