Who is Krista Komondor?
Komondor is a New York City-based entertainer, clown, and cat mom. Balancing improvisation and playwrighting, her performances are described as "comedy gold with a big loving heart." She is especially known for her intricately staged characters, like Sunny Chatum, Mr Saturday Night, Piano, and Terri Clapp. Originally from Morgantown, West Virginia, Komondor studied at Ecole Philippe Gaulier. Interestingly, the self-employed artist was previously a registered nurse for almost 16 years after graduating with a nursing degree from West Virginia University. The experience of working as a nurse helped Komondor to design the characters of her play, 'Mercy Machine', which revolves around an idealistic Nurse Practitioner, Morgan Fenster.
Krista Komondor's character Sunny Chatum to appear in 'AGT' Season 18
Komondor defines her character Sunny Chatum as, "Hailing from Paris Texas, this fellow believes in hope and the beauty of the human spirit." Sunny is well-versed in playing the ukulele. She adds about his character, "he has written hundreds of songs, though his stage shyness keeps him performing his tunes solely in his bedroom for his best bud Sam." His best friend Sam is a sweet "saddle coat German Shepherd." Sunny is about to achieve his dream of playing ukulele for America by being on the 'AGT' stage. Komondor's disguise will surely surprise the judges and the audience because of her believable performance. So, the artist can definitely keep her hopes up for receiving the golden buzzer in the upcoming audition round.
