PASADENA, CALIFORNIA: 'America's Got Talent' Season 18 auditions have reached near the end. In week nine and the last auditions night, the typical assortment of singers, comedy viral acts, acrobats, goof acts, alumni from 'Got Talent' programs around the world, and more, will compete.
Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum, Simon Cowell, and Sofia Vergara will all be back on the judging panel along with presenter Terry Crews to look for qualified competitors. However, as the 'group' golden buzzer is still left, 13 contestants compete in the latest episode to advance to the next round. Among the hopefuls is Andres Parada aka Papayaso.
Who is Papayaso?
Comedian Andres Parada's iconic clown character goes by the name Papayaso, who's all ready to set the stage on fire. Papayaso is a goofy Chilean clown who loves to make the audience laugh. Meanwhile, Andres is a writer, actor, musician, and comedian. He originally hails from Tubac, Arizona but currently resides in Los Angeles, where he writes and performs on house teams at Upright Citizen’s Brigade Theatre.
According to Andres' profile, his "life as a weirdo" began by touring with folk bands across the US. In the tour van, he drew cartoons and one of those crazy ideas ended up being produced as a western short, Nickelodeon's 'Tennis The Good Boy'. He has studied the art of clown at The Idiot, improv at The Second City, and sketching at The Pack. Andres' creative endeavors don't stop here as he has directed TV shows like 'NCIS', 'SWAT', among others. He has also auditioned for 'Just for Laughs Comedy Festival' but got rejected. Additionally, Andres also works as an anchor and writer for the satire news program 'The Daily Misinformer'.
Andres Parada on 'America's Got Talent' Season 18
Andres is all set to perform in 'AGT' Season 18 as Papayaso 'The Chilean Clown'. He shared a series of behind-the-scenes photos and expressed his excitement on his social media, "Papayaso is currently staying with me. He has been sleeping in a tent in my living room, watching NBC for 3 days straight. He says he doesn’t want to miss his spot in line. I tell him that’s now TV works, but he ignores me. Bless his heart." Andres' act appears to be in the parody realm. Notably, Andres previously noted that his father's death inspired him to pursue comedy.
New episodes of 'America's Got Talent' Season 18 air every Tuesday on NBC at 8 pm ET.
